Receptive Language
Service Description
receptive language refers to a person’s ability to understand and process the language they hear or read. It involves skills like following directions, understanding questions, comprehending stories, and making sense of vocabulary and grammar. When someone has a receptive language disorder, they may struggle to grasp what others are saying, have difficulty following multi-step instructions, or find it hard to understand conversations and written information. Receptive language therapy aims to improve these comprehension skills, helping individuals better understand and respond to the world around them. This type of therapy is often used with children who have language delays, learning disabilities, or developmental disorders, as well as adults who have experienced brain injuries or neurological conditions.
